RArgh!

The laptop's been at BB since last Friday night, and it was supposed to go to a depot and get a diagnostic (and more importantly), a quote estimate on replacement of the network card which would probably require a motherboard replacement since it seems to be an all-in-one situation.

So.

After four phone calls into the ether that is BB automated answering phone systems, I'm told that the rough quote is $400 plus labour, and the laptop never got to the depot. So I call my extended warranty people, and they're of the 'it's less than $645 so a covered fix' and I call back to BB telling them that I want a fixed quote and then I get told that the actual part needs to be ordered into the depot and that'll be the price (whatever the price is). So the laptop will *finally* go to the service depot Saturday night. A FULL WEEK after I dropped it off. :(

Ugh.

I already knew that the network jack on the card was the culprit of woes (my lack of wired connection in Atlanta, GA, my lack of wired connection in Niagara Falls, ON, my lack of wired connection right next to my own router) and yet I still had to pay the cost of the diagnostic, and now this additional week of nothing accomplished/all waiting business. :(
