Following the previously announced Millennium Stage 12th Anniversary Celebration: Broadway Today Jan. 31 at the Kennedy Center, the famed Washington, DC, venue will host a week of musical theatre cabarets.

Curated by Michael Kerker and ASCAP, the Feb. 1-7 performances will be presented in the Millennium Stage's Grand Foyer, which will be transformed into a cabaret.

Complete casting has been announced for On the Town, the opening production of City Center's 2008-2009 Encores! season. Directed by John Rando, the Leonard Bernstein-Betty Comden-Adolph Green musical will play the famed Manhattan venue Nov. 19-23.

The cast will be headed by Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, A Chorus Line) as Gabey, Christian Borle (Legally Blonde the Musical, Spamalot) as Ozzie, Justin Bohon (Oklahoma!, All Shook Up) as Chip, Jessica Lee Goldyn (A Chorus Line) as Ivy, Leslie Kritzer (A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde the Musical) as Hildy Esterhazy, Jennifer Laura Thompson (Urinetown, Wicked) as Claire DeLoone, Andrea Martin (Young Frankenstein, My Favorite Year, Oklahoma!) as Madame P. Steggert, Kritzer, Snyder and More Join Kennedy Center's Three Generations; Jones to Host

Casting is now complete for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Broadway: Three Generations, a three-act evening featuring condensed versions of Girl Crazy, Bye Bye Birdie and Side Show.

Lonny Price will direct the performances, which are scheduled to play the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater Oct. 2-5. Academy Award winner Shirley Jones will host.

As previously announced, the starry cast will boast Randy Graff, Brooks Ashmanskas, Lisa Brescia, Jenn Colella, Michael McElroy, Laura Osnes and Max von Essen. Newcomers to the company include Ned Eisenberg, Leslie Kritzer, Michael Mulheren, James Snyder and Bobby Steggert.

A Catered Affair to Close in July

A Catered Affair — the new musical penned by John Bucchino and Harvey Fierstein, who co-stars — will play its final performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre July 27, the producers of the new musical announced June 19.

When it closes, the wedding-themed musical will have played 27 previews and 116 regular performances.

So I was watching the MTV Legally Blonde performance this weekend and pretty much ignoring LBB on stage whenever there were other performers around. :)

Annaleigh Ashford originated the role of Margot in Legally Blonde and understudied the role of Elle Woods. She's currently at the Gershwin Theatre being very Good as Glinda in Wicked.
