As the steam fogs up
from the hot bath tub,
it curls around the mirror
in the gilt picture frame.

My eyes wander from
the froth of white
through the mist
that dulls the senses.

As the gentle waves of warmth
wash against the edge
of white porcelain,
resting against the soft pillow,
I regain the serenity
that sustained me.
