Car Update

Three months ago I started looking at sedans.

Or I flailed and tried. The option of cars is now very bizarre.

The minivan length is 193". My garage length is 204". Current minivan lengths are 201".

I fail at residential math. :(

That, or the original renovation which REMOVED 24" from my garage (creating a sufficient mudroom space) fails some more. :(

So I've looked at the following:

07 Camry which has gone through the redesign. Very pretty, but starts at 25,800.
07 Sienna which has also gone through the design. Very pretty as well, and starts at 30,800.
07 Yaris, which replaced the Echo, which looks prettier than the '06's that I'd seen. That starts at 15,530.
06 Matrix, which starts at 18,200.
06 Corolla, which isn't slated for a redesign until '08. Pretty as well, and starts at (auto) 16,715.

I also looked at non-Toyota cars:

Mazda: 6 (24,895), as well as the MX-5 (29,195), MPV (the minivan) (30,595)
Honda: Civic (18,180), Accord (24,800), and the Odyssey (36,400).

I still have to look at North American cars, however, I'm doubtful. Just because I can barely see past the lovely dashboard on some of the sedans. At least, not without a phonebook and some bricks. :(

At the rate I'm going, the auto purchase will be a deferred matter (maybe to the fall, POST-vacation :D).

I'm more inclined to either an '06 Corolla, or else, the '07 Yaris. I don't need a minivan. I don't see the need to cart around any more than the usual 4 (5 if it's really squishy) as the youngest sibling is expected to use public transit.
