Untitled - June 1, 2002

Falling into a field
of spring daffodils -
surrounded
by a million hues
of yellow sunshine.

The petal softness
becomes the first layer of touch
against the sun-kissed nipples.

A slash of saffron
reveals a slight smile,
brilliant against
the early morning shadows.

Every daffodil dolefully sways
against the breeze
that ruffles their edges,
and hums the morning song.
Untitled - June 01, 2002

Like an endless stream
of droplets
against a rocky shelf,
time wears away
at the surface layers
until a groove runs
deep and wide.

Gradually, the distance widens
until that's all there is
remaining -
a gap that once was.
