I could talk about the current pan-fandom brouhaha that's causing a minor kerfuffle on 6A/LJ but it'd be needing too much exposition on my part, and I can't figure neither head nor tail of where to start... ;)

current LJ status

Y'know...

before the current LJ meltdown a la WFI and mass-deletions of LJ's regardless of cause and/or reason, I'd been debating whether I should plunk down money for a permanent account (see: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/subscriptions/permacct_sale.bml).

Now?

I've got to wait out whether I want to keep watching LJ drama meltdowns (it's made it onto both boingboing, cnet, and other techno-news websites).

Maybe I should just save the money for the UK trip.
