‘Young Frankenstein’ Marches Off on a New Path for Tickets

Look closely at the latest television commercial for “The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein.” After the usual production numbers and excited narration comes an announcement: “All tickets $50 to $120.” Nothing for $450, $350 or even $225. As if Mr. Brooks’s previous musical, “The Producers,” the show that introduced the premium ticket in 2001, never happened.
