Butz, Sanz and Thompson to Star in Musical Workshop from Grey Gardens Duo

Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz, Horatio Sanz and Jennifer Laura Thompson will take part in a May reading of a new musical penned by Grey Gardens co-creators, Scott Frankel and Michael Korie.
Lincoln Center Theater confirmed that Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Sans ("SNL") and Thompson (Wicked) are scheduled to appear in the reading, which will be helmed by Tony-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman.
John Weidman (Assassins, Bounce, Contact) has penned the book for the new musical that was previously titled Happiness. In an earlier interview with Playbill Radio's Robert Viagas, Stroman commented that the new work would incorporate dance but not be primarily dance-driven like her Tony-winning Contact.

Foldesi, Litzsinger, Reinders and More Will Sing Lippa Songs May 12

As previously announced, Welcome to the World — a concert celebrating the music and lyrics of theatre composer Andrew Lippa — will be held May 12 at Off-Broadway's Players Theatre.
Presented by the new theatre company 3S Theatre Collective, the evening will feature the talents of Kevin R. Free, Valerie Issembert, Sharone Sayegh and Louise Stewart with special guests Julie Foldesi (Little Women), Sarah Litzsinger (Beauty and the Beast) and Kate Reinders (Wicked).
Concertgoers can expect expect to hear tunes from Lippa's The Wild Party, john & jen and Asphalt Beach as well as the songs he contributed to the Broadway production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Show time is 8 PM.
