Part 2/?
It was not just solitude
but loneliness
that was so attractive
yet repellent
at the same time;
drawn by the beauty of independence
yet held by the strength of will
that was quiet and unrelenting.
It was an unending trail of tears,
silently falling into the darkness,
wetting clenched fists
and muted sobs.
A choice of no choices --
where the circumstances
dictated relationships,
and hopes and dreams
were sacrificed
to the altar of practicality
and expedience.
