RARGH!
less than 24 hours before I'm meandering through O'Hare to catch a flight... things left to do:
pack luggage.
-> chargers: phone, camera, USB cables, batteries
-> clothes -- debating whether I'll melt in long pants, or whether this is the year where I might wear shorts while traveling. Maybe. Probably not. My knees may never forgive me.

-> kit+caboodle [2 bottles, DVD's, CD's]
-> Leatherman+kit
-> yellow slicker
-> blue hat
-Laptop + charger, M200 + HiMD's, Sandisk + microSD + microSD adapter
-phone 1 + phone 2 (SIMcards)
-passport
-wallet
-itinerary
-major maps+itinerary
-notebooks+pens
-sunglasses

First thing going home will be to find the carry-on luggage and pack. The carry-on will be checked, while the backpack will not be.
