I'm a bit baffled at how on Earth this is going...to encourage pre-view audiences to come back.
This creates even less incentive to go back and see the show at the proverbial (get the 125$ seats for 75$) when I can just really wait and get even cheaper tickets.

*stabbity-stabs the headache* I'm pretty much believing that I'm better off tossing money at tickets for Spamalot when it plays here, and definitely for Wicked when the Tour comes back.

The Lord of the Rings, the open-ended theatrical extravaganza in Toronto, has announced a new block of tickets, through Sept. 24, will go on sale April 22.
"After opening to an unprecedented avalanche of international attention, The Lord of the Rings is attracting both traditional audiences and, significantly, people who have not attended a live theatre performance before," according to an April 20 statement.
By popular demand, and to continue to build on the new audiences the production has found, the producers are adding a new entry-level price of only $26 (Canadian). "We believe the new range of ticket prices starting at $26 will encourage more people to join this new audience and experience the thrilling drama and magical beauty of The Lord of the Rings live on stage. They will join the thousands of theatergoers who have already seen just how exhilarating live, epic, world-class, popular entertainment can be…"
