a single-minded focus
where everything is shifted
out of range -
a slight shadow
balanced the sunshine
that is her smile.

It's acceptance
without adverse effects -
a resignation
to the reality
that pools together -
at the crossroads
of the impossible
with the vague hopes
that might be otherwise.
