Souls or the lack thereof...

One of the most interesting lines within Maguire's book is the idea of souls:
"I can make no comment on the souls of others," said the Witch. (p. 344)
This line (and other textual discussion) extends itself into some of the fic I've read in different ways --
*shrug* It's just an interesting idea - souls or the lack thereof...
I'll probably come back to this idea as I go back and read through more fic .
