Telephone calls...

that annoy the heck outta me.
Citibank (whatever) cards just finished this long promotional call (protecting against identity theft!) and hung up on me (as opposed to saying goodbye and ending the call)...
What's with the "you can pay a fee of 69.99 to (whatever service) and register all your (credit cards, debit cards, gas cards, whatever important information) and we (the service) will monitor it for you and prevent identity theft" concept. It's one thing if someone steals my wallet and plunders the AmEx for a joy-shopping thing. It's another thing if someone hacks a database and plunders all this "important" information and masquerades as me.
I'm not going to pay someone else to do something that I'm already doing right now.
