I managed to finish the things I needed to finish writing for this month, and I'd mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] sporkmetender that I was always listening to something relatively inappropriate and why I was semi-glad that these mashups hadn't turned up on my first efforts at drabbling for the last iMeme.

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn your music player on and turn it on random.
3. Write a drabble/ficlet related to each song that plays. You only have the length of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts and stop when it's over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do five of these and post them.

Those were the rules last time.

This time, I've tossed all the mashups I have (and will continue to acquire more and toss those into the folder here. Feel free to download and listen and then pick one (and post a comment) and I'll write a drabble based upon that mashup. I won't bother with my mp3 random because I figure people are more random than the technology. :)

The songs might be odd, but the fic will hopefully made up for it. Some stuff is not-safe-for-work or whatnot. And yes, I do listen to these songs. :)

So. It's a little bit more into April, and the month isn't even half-over and already I want the summer to be here - if only so this dreary cold weather can be retired for another year.

To those that will be observing the holidays this week(end) - Pesach or Easter, or in general - a Friday long-weekend, have a good holiday.

April's DWP challenge involves the concept of 'three' - see Things Come in Threes. However, I'm playing with another variant on the theme - just the 'three' (and its multiples) for this month. There will be a theme (sort of), and the requisite number of drabbles to follow.

These second six drabbles combine for a total of 593 words.

Six times where Andrea Sachs told a lie to herself. )
So. It's April, and it seems like the ink is still dribbling from the pen so I might as well try to take advantage and leave little scratch marks on the page as opposed to having blue ink spots in a shirt pocket.

These are the words from the 'second' list -- I've played a little looser on the word count here.

So I wasn't writing drabbles before... as in before the iTune's meme, and before a whole bunch of other things. However, over the span of three weeks, I've cranked out more words than I really want to think about.

There are two sets of words I've used - the 'legitimate' list of words as part of [livejournal.com profile] dvlwears_prada's ABCs of DWP drabble challenge shown here and a second round of words that I borrowed from the [livejournal.com profile] alphabetsoup Alternate Non-Themed Prompt List

From antique to enchant )
I haven't written drabbles in four years. 376 words in total.

I may or may not, post these to [livejournal.com profile] dvlwears_prada.

Reduction

The emptiness faded for just a moment, before it came back in full vengeance.

A gaping maw of silence for a ghostly presence left unmentioned, but never unloved and untended.

Watching lips move, mouthing empty words.

Everything reduced to the love left unspoken.

Bereft of hope unseen. Feeling the cold lies flow through pale veins.

Until the shell becomes the truth, and the myth becomes the reality.

Bridging the canyon that was the past, for the dream of a future, only to find the crumbled scraps left tattered and torn, not enough to even wipe the unshed tears.
