George Furth, Librettist for Company, Dies at 75

George Furth, a playwright and actor who made his lasting contribution to the American theatre through two collaborations with composer Stephen Sondheim, the musicals Company and Merrily We Roll Along, died Aug. 10 in Santa Monica, CA.
He was 75. He had been in the hospital for a lung infection.
